The science people- things I miss and "not so much miss" about you guys!

Disclaimer: I do NOT endorse the view that people who study science are better than people who do law, or stereotyping everyone. People all over this mad country, are the same in some ways or the other. This post is not about people only, its about the world which I've lived in and moved out of, by my own free will..

In the past two three years, I've been asked a lot of questions regarding my career choices, and I've never stuck to a single answer.. because the thing is - there is no single answer. This question is the most complicated and at the same time too unimportant, its the zest of my life. I am doing what  I feel like doing, its my life, and I feel awesome doing it.
Still moving to an absolute real world from the people of science- Is a lot of translation, A Lot!

So here I will enlist ( as an ode to all of the wonderful years I've spent with you) a few things I miss about you :

1.Non Judgmental:   When I was in the Science-Land, I learnt how materials, chemicals and animals behave.. I love the analysing capabilities of any average medical/non medical student. They run deep inside the problem, they are not afraid of tacky/uncool/non pretty thing.... In the end, doctors end up treating all kinds of people, even when they are quite unreasonable and probably not worth the effort. ( some times there are judgmental moments, but we let them pass, not affect us).

2.Blissfully uncomplicated: The people I graduated with, were extraordinary in their capability to balance their life around the subject they have chosen. There were people who are aware of the current world but still, seriously, most of the times, they don't feel overwhelmed about policies and laws. In their own world, a well treated patient makes the day, new techniques, methods, instruments- make them happy and vice versa. Seriously, sometimes I get sick of discussing politics(lack of knowledge playing an important part), one of the favorite topics of my new friends :)

3. Tolerant: When you see a person puking/ messed up/ unclean/ smelling bad; what do you do?
Well my fellow dentists, and myself, in spite of our intentions, took care of every such person and attended to their needs.
Now I find people trying to judge whether these people are real doctors are not?
Seriously, I should care less, but in my mind, I pray that each one of their teeth rots, badly; I wish that the cigarettes they smoke and tobacco build up a lot of stains( still they don't lose confidence, nerves of steel I say) and then I realise that a good dentist, even after all that, would advise them whats best for them. (sigh...Noble it is actually )

4. The Cool disinterest in personal life gossip vibe: Its not that the people never gossiped, but seriously, what I've to hear these days, is far too much more than I would like to hear about anybody's personal life; which in the real world is different, You have to go out and talk to people, however meaning less it might seems, "Make Contacts" and basically be all out there, all the times.

Enough of the ramblings of what I miss, in the other corner of my heart I love my new life ( And I have this feeling the Science people might want to miss the next part):

1. I do things that really matter to me and to a lot of people who I might be able to help(hopefully)

2. I've got pretty good friends over here.. they know a lot of different stuff, that I would have never known if this plunge was not taken.

3. Now I know how the real world functions-

  • There are all sorts of people, Its okay to not like all, or to like everyone at all times.
  • What you know you can do also changes what you do after all, law has taught me so many things that I was unaware of ( Will follow that up on my other blog).
  • People can be too judgmental of you, on your face or behind- think about it, but move on, don't stay there balancing yourself on a mental see-saw
  • Nobody intimidates me easily now. I know what they are talking about ;)
  • A lot of people fight, and will keep on fighting, legal system , apart from its own madness, is the only sane way to make the world a better place :)

To be loyal

Its good to be a part of a fraternity.... We all want to be a part of something since the age we actually start  forming ideas....Though I cannot lay enough stress on the importance of living in a way your conscious allows you to, but sometimes its more gratifying to stick with what you believed in and accepting the consequences ..

The first thing that comes into my mind when i say loyal is the wagging tail and absolutely kissable face of my dog  ... He is so loyal that our family is most important to him (  after food and bitches ofcourse, but thats how it should be) , but think what if your pet becomes angry at you at every little thing you do and not treat you affectionately ? Do you actually believe that you are THAT nice ?

I cannot say that everything my friends or family do are acceptable to me... I love it when my little brother corrects my spellings and pronounciations , though I hate it when he plagiarises...  Similarly sometimes its difficult to believe that how do my friends live with their absolutely stupid decisions( or well maybe I'm being stupid)

I mean sometimes i find it fun to defend something, aware that I might be wrong in a certain manner , mostly because of the little ego thing and also to make others hyterical ...

Dont we love our country no matter what?

Life is a mixture of love and hate and we should try to stick to what we have till its even more painful to stay with them, appreciate the good in your relationships and ignore the small tiffs , till it becomes a crack..

P.S. : This post is dedicated to Shahrukh khan , whose loyal fan I will be till  he actually does another 20-30 dud roles ;P
